Helping young people tell their own stories - and be heard
StoryBridge Scotland supports young people, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, displacement, social isolation or exclusion, to build confidence, develop their creative, social and leadership skills, and find their voices. Through storytelling, peer mentoring and community-based activities, we create opportunities for young people to connect with others, share their experiences, learn new skills and shape positive futures for themselves and their communities.
StoryBridge Scotland is a brand new Scottish charity working with young people who face disadvantage, displacement, social isolation or exclusion.
We bring these groups together for shared creative learning - where friendships form, stereotypes get challenged, and mutual understanding is built.
We are currently building our first partnerships and preparing a pilot year with two school-based projects
From there we will grow in response to need, partnership, funding and what our evaluation tells us
We run creative storytelling programmes in schools and communities across Scotland, using photography, visual storytelling and written narrative to help young people build confidence, belonging, self-expression, social connection and leadership skills.
Our activities are free to participants. Where we run public events, entry will be free or affordable, and charges reduced or waived wherever cost would be a barrier
